Nancy's comment on CamERAMICS

"I like the futuristic element, since it allows lot of scope with the intervention into the event, these immaterial spaces created by imagination offers vital keys for others who need to comprehend such a change. What am I doing ? Why am I there ? What am I saying? These dramaturgy questions I am continually asking in my practice and related activities I am apart of. In regard to this ceramics project, I like the idea of the 'other time' character. It allows another type approach to the plates to make sense. This stimulates creative imagination of others, as only then do they get access to the ideas, learning and culture of others, past and present. If we are aliens or event people from another time researching [doesn't have to be so dramatic] then it make more sense why we are engaging with these objects in unusual ways. I'm always bringing in extraordinary modes, drama and costume, of course, it's ok with a bit less. But it says something more than an everyday life type of approach. Field researchers from the future. let's say we want that element as it gives it more sense to why we are doing something surreal/abnormal with plates and of course it brings the time element into it, which the plates
themselves are time repositories" (MAURO-FLUDE, 2008)[i]
